OGP fatality statistics show that Europe is the region with the lowest Fatal Accident Rate (FAR) in the world. The Fatal Accident Rate is a measure of the number of fatalities per million manhours worked. The UK’s 2006 FAR rate was below even the European average, and demonstrates the industry’s strong safety performance.
