Production – Supplementary Statistics and Commentary Oil and Gas from the UKCS has provided the nation with a secure energy supply for the majority of the last three decades, furthermore the basin is forecast to continue to meet a significant proportion of demand in the future. Assuming that new developments proceed as planned, it is expected that all oil needs will again be met by domestic production during the years 2007 to 2009.
